Inspiring the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs and Investors

Malta Venture Capital partnered with FINEX, the University of Malta’s finance student organisation, to deliver an engaging learning experience focused on entrepreneurship, venture capital, and innovation.

The initiative brought together a group of ambitious students eager to gain firsthand insight into how venture capital supports the growth of innovative businesses. During the session, the MVC team provided an overview of the organisation’s mission, investment approach, and role in supporting Malta’s start-up ecosystem.

Students also had the opportunity to hear from one of MVC’s portfolio companies, Equity Match, which shared the founder’s perspective on building a business and delivered practical advice on creating the “perfect pitch” for investors.

The event culminated in a hands-on challenge where students worked in teams to develop a business concept, create a product offering, and prepare a pitch deck within a limited timeframe. Each team then presented its idea to a panel of student investors, aiming to secure investment through a compelling and well-structured pitch. By combining theory with real-world application, the initiative provided participants with valuable entrepreneurial skills while fostering greater awareness of venture capital and start-up innovation in Malta.
